Stern Discharge Systems

Orwell Offshore has designed a Stern Discharge System (SDS) drawing on all its in-house engineering capabilities. Based on experience gained working on projects in challenging field locations, the SDS is designed to suit environments with extreme loading conditions.

The 10-metre diameter reel is designed to hold 250m of 16-inch double carcass floating offloading hose and is driven by three hydraulic motors. A spooling device with its own hydraulic power unit is located aft of the reel to guide the hose on and off the drum, while an access and operating platform is provided at the end of the reel.

Orwell Offshore has experience in the design and engineering support of complete FPSO offloading systems, including hawser handling frames, quick release hook foundations, offloading platforms, and hose maintenance platforms.
