Orwell Offshore’s team of engineers and designers has the capability and experience to design and analyse helidecks using software tools such as SolidWorks, AutoCAD, STAAD PRO and ANSYS. These software tools allow for the complete 3D design and analysis of the helideck structure and its effect on the surrounding deck structures. The Company’s own team of naval architects can also supply vessel motions data to determine the motions of helidecks in different sea states and the dynamic loads on helidecks.

Orwell Offshore has designed and installed a stern mounted helideck on the FPSO Rubicon Intrepid and a side mounted helideck on the FPSO Rubicon Vantage. Included in the scope of work was design of the helideck, structural analysis, motions analysis, installation support and ensuring compliance with DNV and other regulations.

All helidecks are designed to meet the requirements of DNV OS-E401 (Helicopter Decks) and CAP 437 (Offshore Helicopter Landing Areas, Guidance on Standards).
