Outfitting of Bluestone Topaz to Installation Support Vessel

Owing to the dynamic nature of Orwell Offshore, where engineers use their experience to make accurate decisions on the spot, the company has the ability to manage and complete projects within short periods of time.

As part of a riser repair operation off the Philippines, Orwell Offshore undertook the mobilisation and structural conversion of the 72m supply vessel Bluestone Topaz into an ISV over the course of four days. This included the vessel layouts, the design fabrication and installation of a mezzanine deck, the installation of a full ROV spread, modifications and installation of an offloading chute and the loading of all project specific equipment.

By utilising almost 24-hour operations with design and engineering capabilities in both the Singapore and UK offices, Orwell Offshore was able to produce fabrication drawings and commence fabrication on the six-legged ROV mezzanine deck within 48 hours of the start of the project.

Orwell Offshore provided on-site supervision throughout the fabrication of the deck and co-ordinated the installation on the vessel along with the ROV spread, offloading chute and project specific equipment.

Following departure from the yard, Orwell Offshore continued to support the clients by advising on the structural modifications required for the placement of an overboard lifting frame and producing operational procedures for its work in the field.
