Conversion of Rubicon Intrepid to Generic FPSO

The Rubicon Intrepid is a dynamically positioned Floating Production Storage and Offloading (FPSO) vessel that is currently operating at the Galoc field off the Philippines. The vessel was previously a shuttle tanker before being converted to an FPSO in Singapore in 2007. The vessel was the first generic FPSO conversion that Rubicon Offshore International had undertaken.

Orwell Offshore provided engineering and operations support to Rubicon during the conversion and commissioning process which included:

• Structural Analysis of new deck modules
• Finite Element analysis of the vessel deck and under deck beams
• Operations support during the conversion
• Stability booklets and Inclining tests
• Motion Response Analysis
• Operations support during commissioning of the vessel and bow loading systems
• Holdback Mooring System to support existing SALM Mooring

Orwell Offshore engineers provided a team of marine engineers to handle all aspects of the scope of work from early design stages to ongoing operational support.
