Fire Control & Safety Plans

The concept of fire control/safety plans and Hazardous Area Classification layouts dates back decades. At Orwell Offshore we have taken it all to a new level of design work using the latest modelling packages to deliver a precise and presentable arrangement to the customer.

Using all the latest regulations which cover these layouts such as SOLAS, ISO 17631 and API 505, we can ensure that all work carried out from surveying the ship to delivery of the finished drawing conforms to these rules and regulations.

Fire control / Safety Plans
The task begins with a complete survey of the safety equipment onboard, including any new appliances to be installed. Using a ship’s general arrangement – or a new one supplied by Orwell Offshore – an overall layout is produced which needs to be sanctioned by MCA, Lloyds or DNV.

Hazardous Area Classification:
After a survey is completed, all relevant drawings of installations are inspected. Each area and tank vent module is classified according to API 505 regulations and a layout produced showing all hazardous areas.
