FPSO Rubicon Vantage Hookup
Orwell Offshore was asked to provide engineering support for the installation of the Rubicon Vantage FPSO in the Gulf of Thailand. This involved the connection of the vessel to a SALM system. This was the culmination of several months’ design and engineering work converting the vessel from a shuttle tanker to an FPSO in Jurong, Singapore.
Orwell Offshore staff were involved in the preparation and mobilisation of the vessel from Rayong, Thailand with all the necessary equipment for hook-up at the field.
Once on site the vessel was connected up to the mooring and riser system which consisted of:
• Mooring chain
• Production riser
• Hydraulic/electrical umbilical
• Water injection riser
Riser end fittings were installed overboard, including bend restrictors, wing clamps, valve actuators and coupler pieces and the risers connected to the bow loading system (BLS) manifolds.
